Whether you require a shredder for your office or for the quick shredding of a large quantity of data, find the perfect shredder quickly and easily in three simple steps.
1. Use – what do you need your shredder for?
2. Protection against fine dust – do you want to reduce fine dust levels?
3. Location – where will you use your shredder?
Since the main focus of Dahle Waste shredders is on fast and efficient shredding of paper and media, the P-3 shredders from the Waste series are ideal for protecting sensitive, confidential and personal paper data.
This makes them perfect for normal use in an office or home. The particle size after shredding must not exceed 360 mm² according to DIN 66399 (ISO/IEC 21964).

In day-to-day business, the data protection of internal and external documents is extremely important. According to DIN 66399 (ISO/IEC 21964), highly sensitive, confidential and personal data should be shredded by shredders with security level P-4. Dahle office shredders
have been optimised for use in the office and ensure that the recommended particle size after shredding is kept to 160 mm². As a result, the shredders provide the necessary data protection and impress with high performance, which is indispensable in offices.

In 2012, DIN 66399 (ISO/IEC 21964) replaced the obsolete DIN 32757-1. The outdated DIN standard only took the shredding of paper documents into account but gave no details as to how different digital data carriers, such as CDs, should be treated. In the new DIN 66399 (ISO/IEC 21964) ‘Office and Data Technology – Shredding Data Carriers’, a standard concept for shredding data on paper as well as in digital form was developed. This includes notes on processes as well as unit requirements.
DIN 66399 defines the need for protection of data carriers using three protection classes. These provide information on the extent to which the data will be protected depending on the use.
Protection class 1
Normal protection requirements for internal data
Protection class 2
High protection for confidential data
Protection class 3
Very high protection for highly sensitive and confidential data
The three protection classes have been organised into a total of 7 security levels. They offer effective protection for the shredding of a range of data carriers. The higher the protection class, the higher the security level must be, which determines how small the minimum particle size must be after the shredding process. As a result, the reproduction of data is prevented. The protection classes can be organised into specific security levels:
Data carrier for protection class 1 to security levels 1,2,3
Data carrier for protection class 2 to security levels 3,4,5
Data carrier for protection class 3 to security levels 4,5,6,7
