The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) itself does not contain any specific information on shredding data using shredders. This is laid down in DIN 66399 (ISO/IEC 21964), which specifies the

shredding of data carriers (paper, CDs, DVDs etc.) in accordance with data protection. DIN 66399 (ISO/IEC 21964) defines the protection classes, material classifications and security levels.
